The oil behemoth Chevron is poised to imminently unveil its strategic expansion within Venezuela, as intimated by a senior U.S. official on Tuesday.

The official, who briefed reporters on the anticipated announcement, indicated that representatives of the company, alongside Energy Secretary Chris Wright, are slated to travel to Venezuela on Wednesday, where the new investment is to be formally unveiled.

The official spoke on the condition of anonymity, in accordance with the ground rules established by the White House for the call.

Chevron, the second-largest U.S. oil concern, stands as the sole major operator with a substantive foothold in Venezuela.

This development follows the White House's Monday confirmation of its collaboration with North American Blue Energy Partners, a strategic alliance forged under President Donald Trump's initiative to exploit Venezuela's petroleum sector.
