Costco announced on Thursday that it is entering into a partnership with DoorDash to facilitate delivery from its warehouse stores across the United States.

DoorDash already provides Costco delivery in a handful of markets, among them Australia, Sweden and Puerto Rico.

Nevertheless, the nationwide partnership constitutes a first for the San Francisco-based delivery company, which noted that Costco ranked among the most-searched retailers not yet available on its U.S. platform.

DoorDash announced that it will deliver groceries, household items and electronics from all of Costco’s U.S. stores.

Delivery will be available exclusively to Costco members, who can link their membership information to their DoorDash account.

Costco, headquartered in Issaquah, Washington, boasts a membership of 81 million individuals globally.

The majority of these members reside in the United States, where the company operates 639 stores across 47 states.

For close to a decade, Costco has provided delivery via Instacart.

In 2024, it unveiled a partnership with San Francisco-based Uber Eats, yet under the terms of that arrangement, Uber Eats furnished delivery in merely 17 states.

On Tuesday, Uber Eats announced that it was extending its Costco delivery service nationwide.

As is the case with DoorDash, Uber Eats already offers delivery from Costco in other countries, among them Japan, France, Spain, Canada and Mexico.

In recent years, DoorDash and Uber Eats have been progressively broadening their grocery offerings across the United States.

Last autumn, both companies announced alliances with Kroger, the nation's largest supermarket chain.
