Three news groups came back to the White House on Thursday.

A judge stopped the ban for now.

The ban was on CNN, MS NOW and Politico.

The ban was part of a fight.

President Donald Trump does not like their news.

But White House news was still not normal.

No big U.S. network showed it live.

The White House banned CNN from a group of five big U.S. TV outlets.

These outlets take turns filming and sharing video.

The other four said no to the video pool.

They did this to show support.

In the morning, the three banned outlets could not enter.

A Secret Service agent took their credentials.

After the ruling, officials were told to give access back.

They said they needed time to find and turn on the badges.

This took over two hours.

A court filing said this.

U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly gave an order.

He told the White House to give access back to the three outlets right away.

He said they will likely win their case.

Their press passes were taken without due process.

Trump nominated Kelly in 2017.

Kelly said the government must have clear rules.

The rules are for taking away a press pass.

He said the rules in the White House letters were too vague.

He also said no to the government's argument.

The government said the reporting hurt national security.

He said the ruling supported press freedom and the rule of law.

Michael Velchik is a Justice Department lawyer.

He said White House access is a privilege, not a right.

The temporary restraining order ends in two weeks.

The judge gave both sides until Oct. 5.

They must file arguments for a longer ruling.
