The defense finished its case on Friday.

Then prosecutors started to call new witnesses.

Clancy is 36 years old.

She said she is not guilty of murder.

Her children were 8 months to 5 years old.

They were found in the basement of their home in Massachusetts.

This was in January 2023.

They were strangled.

After the killings, Clancy jumped from a window.

Now she cannot move her legs.

Prosecutors say she planned the killings.

Clancy's lawyer says she killed the children.

He does not argue about that.

He says she is not guilty because of her mind.

She had postpartum psychosis.

This is a rare mental illness from childbirth.

The defense called family members.

They talked about her mental health getting worse.

They also called a doctor.

His name is Phillip Resnick.

He is a forensic psychiatrist.

He said Clancy was "clearly psychotic."

He said she was not in control of her actions that day.

Resnick said Clancy heard a voice.

The voice told her to kill her children.

He said she had a false belief.

She thought her children would be better off dead with her.

She thought they would go to heaven.

He said she thought she was doing the right thing.

Prosecutors did not agree.

They said Clancy got treatment.

They said she did not have psychosis.
