New emails show that U.S. immigration officials worked with Iran.
They helped send Iranians back to Iran in 2025.
This happened even though the two countries had problems.
The National Iranian American Council got the emails.
They made them public on Tuesday.
The emails tell about more than 100 Iranians.
They flew back to Iran on three flights.
The flights were in September and December 2025, and January 2026.
The emails show Iranian officials had some power.
They could choose who was sent back.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials made last-minute changes.
They changed the lists at Iran's request.
One ICE official wrote that the Iranian Embassy asked to add cases.
Another official said Iran asked for changes to the list.
Iran also asked for faster removals.
Iranian officials made requests on the day a flight left.
But those requests were denied.
The flights happened months after a ceasefire.
The ceasefire was between the U.S., Israel, and Iran.
There was a deadly 12-day war in June 2025.
The emails show ICE officials saw the deportations as a top job.
They did this even during the war.
One official warned that removals would be hard.
Iran was not giving travel documents.
Its airspace was closed.
A senior official, Marcos Charles, told staff to make a plan.
The plan was to deport 58 Iranians.
These Iranians had final removal orders.
The emails also show one person was sent back by mistake.
That person was not on the final list.
An official wrote that this person got on a flight.
Another official said they did not know how that happened.
The emails suggest the top leaders of the Trump administration wanted the deportations.
Jamal Abdi is the president of the National Iranian American Council.
He said the emails show Trump's claims are false.
Trump said the U.S. is at war with Iran to save ordinary Iranians.
Abdi said the top goal was to remove as many people as possible.
