Learning Resources, a toy company from Illinois, has asked the Supreme Court to stop President Trump's tariffs. They say he put these tariffs in place illegally, using emergency powers without Congress's permission. The company won in a lower court, but the tariffs are still being collected because another court is looking at a similar case. Learning Resources believes the court needs to make a decision soon because the tariffs are really affecting businesses and customers. CEO Rick Woldenberg says the tariffs are causing a lot of uncertainty and making prices higher. The company's lawyers have suggested that the court could decide by June if they will hear the case, and then listen to arguments in the fall. The Trump administration supports the tariffs, saying that the emergency powers law lets the president control imports when there is a national emergency.
