Some parts of Alaska will get a heat warning for the first time. The weather service is now using this instead of "special weather statements." This change is not about climate change. It's because hot weather can be a problem in Alaska, especially where people don't have air conditioning. Right now, only Juneau and Fairbanks can use this warning. But they plan to use it in Anchorage later. Even though it's warm in Anchorage, it's not hot enough for a heat warning yet.
