Khaby Lame, a famous TikTok star, has left the U.S. He was stopped by immigration officers in Las Vegas because they said he stayed longer than his visa allowed.
Seringe Khabane Lame, an influencer from Senegal and Italy, was stopped at the airport in Las Vegas on Friday. He was allowed to leave the country and was not told to leave forever, a spokesperson said.
Lame came to the U.S. on April 30. He stayed longer than his visa said he could. This is what the ICE spokesperson said. The Associated Press sent an email to him on Tuesday. They used the address on his Instagram. He has not said anything in public about being held.
He was stopped and chose to leave the U.S. This happened while President Trump was making immigration rules much stricter. For example, there were police actions in Los Angeles that caused protests against ICE. The president is trying to use his power as much as possible.
Lame was allowed to leave the U.S. by himself. This is good for people who have to leave the U.S. It means they won't have a deportation on their official record. This could stop them from coming back to the U.S. for ten years.
He is 25 years old and became famous all over the world during the pandemic. He didn't speak in his videos, which showed him reacting to very strange "life hacks." He has over 162 million people following him on TikTok.
The influencer from Senegal went to Italy with his parents when he was a baby. His parents were workers. Now, he is an Italian citizen. He became famous online fast. In 2022, he started working with the brand Hugo Boss for a few years. In January, he became a UNICEF ambassador.
Last month, he went to the Met Gala in New York City. He had only been in the U.S. for a few days before he went to the event.
