A judge in Massachusetts stopped President Trump's plan to change how people vote. The judge agreed with some Democratic lawyers who said the plan was against the law. Trump's order wanted people to show they were citizens to vote. It also said that votes sent by mail had to arrive by Election Day. States would only get money for elections if they followed these new rules. The White House said the order would make elections fair. But the judge, Denise J. Casper, said that states would probably win their case. She said the President does not have special power over elections in the Constitution. The judge also stopped the part of the order that said states should not count votes sent by mail that arrive after Election Day. This is the second time a judge has stopped parts of Trump's election order. Another judge in Washington D.C. had already stopped some parts of it.
