Paris Saint-Germain stopped many attacks and played well to win against Arsenal 2-1. This means they will play in the final and can try to win the Champions League title they really want.
PSG didn't have the ball as much as they usually do and looked nervous at first. But they found a way to win by using quick attacks and because their goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, played well. This helped them win 3-1 overall.
PSG played in the final of the best European competition for only the second time. They finished second five years ago. This happened in the first year after their best player, Kylian Mbappé, left to play for Real Madrid.
Another famous player did not fill the big space left by Mbappé. This was a big change for the club. For more than ten years, the owners spent a lot of money to get famous players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Lionel Messi, and Neymar.
With the club's new plan, coach Luis Enrique made a strong team that played great football in Europe.
Enrique said, "From the start, I said our goal was to work hard to try to make history. That is still our goal." He added, "We want to be the first to win the trophy we have wanted for a long time." He also said, "This plan has changed since last year. I feel good coaching here because the president lets me do what I want and helps me build the team we want. We can change based on the market to make a team that gets better every day."
The French team wants to win their first Champions League title. They will play against Inter Milan in Munich on May 31.
The president of PSG, Nasser al-Khelaifi, spoke to CBS Sports and said, "We have confidence in our coach and our players. Our players are young, talented, and eager to succeed. They are dedicated to the team, the city, and the club, which is what matters most."
There's still one match left, so we haven't completed it yet.
Inter, who won the European championship three times, beat Barcelona 7-6 over two games. It was a very good semifinal.
PSG won against Aston Villa, Liverpool, and Arsenal. But they lost to Borussia Dortmund last year. They also lost to Bayern Munich in the final game in 2020.
PSG scored first after 27 minutes. From a free kick, the ball went to Fabian Ruiz near the box, and he kicked it hard into the goal.
Achraf Hakimi scored a goal in the 72nd minute, making the score 2-0, before Bukayo Saka scored a goal for Arsenal.
Last week in London, Arsenal had problems at the start of the game against PSG. They couldn't deal with PSG's strong play in the middle of the field, and they lost the game 1-0.
This time, with player Thomas Partey back, the Gunners attacked 61 times, but PSG only attacked 26 times.
The team visiting quickly showed they were better and had a good chance to score. Declan Rice jumped high but could not score with his head. Then, Gabriel Martinelli shot, but the goalkeeper Donnarumma stopped it.
Arsenal attacked well on the sides and almost scored again after eight minutes. Martin Ødegaard shot the ball low from outside the box, but Donnarumma saved it again.
PSG had to wait for chances to attack quickly, but they didn't get many.
The first chance to score came after 17 minutes. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia found some space on the left. He moved the ball to his right foot and shot. The ball hit the post.
Then, PSG did not score from a bad pass by William Saliba, but Désiré Doué shot the ball weakly and it went straight to Raya.
Soon after 60 minutes, Arsenal had another good chance. Saka kicked the ball well towards the goal, but Donnarumma reached out and pushed it away.
Then Vitinha missed a penalty kick. This happened because a video check showed a player touched the ball with his hand. Soon after, PSG scored again and made the score 2-0. Another player helped score this goal.
Arsenal kept attacking until the end and Saka scored a goal in the 76th minute to make the score closer.
