Costco announced on Thursday that it is entering into a partnership with DoorDash to provide delivery services from its warehouse outlets across the United States.

DoorDash already proffers Costco delivery across a handful of markets—Australia, Sweden, and Puerto Rico among them.

Yet a nationwide partnership constitutes a first for the San Francisco-based delivery concern, which observed that Costco ranked among the most-searched retailers not yet available on its U.S. platform.

DoorDash announced that it will deliver groceries, household items and electronics from every one of Costco’s U.S. stores.

Delivery will be available exclusively to Costco members, who can link their membership information to their DoorDash account.

Costco, whose corporate headquarters are situated in Issaquah, Washington, can claim a global membership of 81 million.

The overwhelming majority of these members are concentrated within the United States, where the company maintains 639 stores spanning 47 states.

For nigh on a decade, Costco has proffered delivery services via Instacart.

Come 2024, it heralded a partnership with San Francisco-headquartered Uber Eats; yet, pursuant to that accord, Uber Eats furnished delivery in a mere 17 states.

On Tuesday, Uber Eats announced that it was extending Costco delivery nationwide.

As is the case with DoorDash, Uber Eats already furnishes delivery from Costco in other countries, among them Japan, France, Spain, Canada and Mexico.

In recent years, DoorDash and Uber Eats have been progressively broadening the ambit of their grocery offerings across the United States.

Come last autumn, both enterprises unveiled partnerships with Kroger, the nation’s preeminent supermarket chain.
