Emily Ratajkowski talked about Blue Origin's space trip for women and said it was not a success.
A famous woman shared her ideas on TikTok. She did this after six women, including Katy Perry and Lauren Sánchez, went to space on Jeff Bezos' rocket.
She said, "That space trip this morning was really bad. It's hard to believe. They say they care about the Earth, but they used a spaceship from a company that is damaging the planet. Think about how much money and work was used to send these women into space. Why did they do it? What was the reason? It makes me feel very angry. I am truly angry."
Ratajkowski is not the only one who thinks the new space trip is not good. Olivia Munn also asked why they were going to space. "I know people might not like this, but there are many other important things in the world now," she said. "What will you do up in space?"
On Tuesday, the actress from 'We Are Your Friends' went back to TikTok to talk more about the Blue Origin flight. Other people on the flight were film producer Kerianne Flynn, former NASA scientist Aisha Bowe, and scientist Amanda Nguyen. It was the 11th time people had been on this mission.
In her new video, Ratajkowski said this trip to space is confusing. She said it seems like things are getting better because we see women and people of color in science and politics now, which did not happen much before. But, she said, a very rich man who got his money by using others and being greedy, taking his girlfriend and some other famous women to space for fun, is not really making things better.
She added, "It shows that a small group of rich people control things. They want to go to space for a new life. But most people on Earth are worried about paying for their homes and feeding their children."
Ratajkowski agreed with someone else who said, 'Being lucky is not a success.' She added, 'Using people or the Earth is not a success either. If you are lucky because you used the Earth, its resources, and people, then going to space for just 11 minutes is definitely not a success.'
She said, "This feels like 'The Hunger Games'. We need to know what real progress is, and yesterday was not that."
After the trip, Sánchez and King talked about the criticism on Monday. King said that people who criticize don't really know what is happening. She said they had all heard and talked about it. King also told critics to learn more about what the flight means to some people.
Sánchez also said she wants people who criticize to visit Blue Origin and see the thousands of employees. These employees do more than just work there; they really care about this project. She said they love their work and the mission, and it is very important to them.
