Billie Eilish is a very famous singer, but she didn't always like her name when she was younger.

Famous singer Billie Eilish, who has won many awards, answered questions from her famous friends for a magazine. One friend, Idris Elba, asked her if she felt bad about her name and how she felt when she first met someone with the same name.

When I was a child, I really disliked my name. People would often say, 'I thought Billie was a boy's name.' This made me feel quite angry. I wished I had a more feminine name, like Violet or Lavender, something pretty and like a flower.

But now the singer really likes her name Billie, and many of her fans would probably feel the same.

Billie Eilish said, "It's very funny because now I can't imagine being called anything else. I love my name so much. It really feels like the perfect name for me."

The singer said her grandfather was called William. So, the first Billy she knew was him, but she never met him.

She said, "I think the first Billie I knew was Billie Piper from Doctor Who. I liked Doctor Who a lot, so I was very happy about that." Then she laughed and said, "But at the same time, I was a little jealous and angry because I thought, Why would people say my name and think of someone else? That's not right!"

Besides Piper and Eilish, many other famous people have had the same first name over the years. Some of them are Billie Jean King, Billie Holiday, Billie Joe Armstrong, Billie Lourd, Billie Burke, Billie Whitelaw, and Billie Dove.
