Kevin Warsh is the new leader of the Federal Reserve.
He talks less than other leaders did.
He says little about the economy and inflation.
Many economists and Wall Street investors do not like this.
On Friday, Warsh will speak at a big Fed meeting.
The meeting is in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
This is a big chance for him to answer their worries.
Economists want a clear sign.
They want to know how he thinks about inflation.
Inflation is still above the Fed's 2% goal.
At his last press talk on July 29, he confused people.
He did not answer questions about raising interest rates.
He said he does not want to give "forward guidance" about future rate moves.
He says that limits the Fed's freedom.
Some economists say he can explain his plan without giving away his next step.
Warsh says his talk will be about "big questions."
These include AI, productivity, and changes in people.
He has not said if "underlying inflation" is getting worse.
He has not said how he measures it.
He talked about the Fed's favorite inflation measure.
He said that could change next year.
He also said higher rates "could well be part of that solution."
But he would not say if they would be used alone.
President Donald Trump wants lower rates.
He also tried to remove Fed governor Lisa Cook.
Economists say this hurts the Fed's trust.
Diane Swonk is the chief economist at KPMG.
She wrote that Warsh's talk is a chance to show he is independent.
Economists say a clear statement would help.
It would show how the Fed might act if inflation stays high.
If Warsh calms worries, long-term rates could fall a little.
The 30-year Treasury bond rate hit a 19-year high last week.
