JetZero, a company from California, wants to build a new factory in North Carolina. This factory will make new passenger planes. It could create more than 14,500 jobs in the area over the next ten years. JetZero plans to spend $4.7 billion on this factory, which will be at the airport in Greensboro. They will make their Z4 plane there. This plane has a special wing design that uses much less fuel than normal airplanes, up to 50% less. United Airlines and Alaska Airlines have already put money into this project and have said they might buy the planes. The project also includes a place to study new materials. It could get more than $2.35 billion from the state and local government by the 2060s. JetZero hopes these planes will start flying by the early 2030s. They plan to make 20 planes every month. First, they will make a plane for about 250 people that can fly 5,000 nautical miles.
