Warner Bros. Discovery is going to separate into two different companies. One company will be for streaming, like HBO and HBO Max. The other company will be for TV channels, like CNN and Discovery. They are doing this because more people are watching TV online and not using cable. David Zaslav will lead the streaming company, and Gunnar Wiedenfels will lead the TV channel company. They hope to finish this by the middle of next year, if the board says yes. This change is happening because streaming is more popular than old cable TV.
