Yemen's Houthi rebels are a big problem in the Middle East.

They have hit Israel, Saudi Arabia, and ships on the sea.

They do this to support Iran.

The rebels have fought Yemen's government since 2014.

Saudi Arabia joined the war in 2015.

It helped the government.

A ceasefire stopped most fighting in 2022.

Then the Houthis hit Israel and ships in the Red Sea.

This was after Hamas' attack on Oct. 7, 2023.

Those attacks stopped after U.S. strikes in early 2025.

In July, the Houthis hit Saudi Arabia again.

They said they would block the big oil company.

The Houthis are part of a small Shiite group.

Their slogan says death to America and Israel.

The war has killed about 150,000 people.

Yemen is close to famine.

Saudi Arabia leads a blockade.

It cuts off Houthi areas.

This makes life worse.

The Houthis are part of Iran's "Axis of Resistance."

Iran says it does not give them weapons.

But ships with weapons have been caught.

They were going to Yemen.

From November 2023 to December 2024, the Houthis hit more than 100 ships.

They sank two ships.

Their attacks on Saudi tankers help Iran.

They open a new fight in the region.
