On Friday night, Iran launched missiles at Israel, and some are believed to have hit Tel Aviv. The Israeli military stated that they stopped most of the missiles, but some still hit buildings. Fifteen civilians were injured in the attack and are now being treated in hospitals in Tel Aviv. This attack is a significant challenge for Israel's air defense system, which has been stopping rockets from several countries since the war began on October 7, 2023. The US has helped shoot down Iranian missiles using ground-based defense systems. However, Israel has mostly managed its own defense over the past year with its advanced system, which can detect incoming rockets and activate when a rocket is heading towards populated or important areas. Israel's air defense has different parts: the Arrow, designed for long-range missiles; David's Sling, for medium-range missiles; and the Iron Dome, for short-range rockets. Israel is also developing the Iron Beam to stop threats using laser technology.
