The son was a 22-year-old college student.
He went to the wrong house in Pennsylvania.
The father's name is Glen Pysher.
His son's name is Glenwood Pysher IV.
The son saw his mistake.
He was waiting for friends.
Then police shot him.
Police in Upper Pottsgrove Township got a 911 call.
The call was about a possible break-in.
It was around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday.
The district attorney's office in Montgomery County said officers found Pysher at the back of a home.
They shot him.
The father said his son was at bars with friends.
Then he took a wrong turn in the woods.
He tried to open a door.
He thought it was his friend's house.
Then he sat on the back porch.
He called friends.
The father said his son was on a FaceTime call at 12:32 a.m.
Police shot him at 12:35 a.m.
The father asked what could happen in that time.
Police arrived at 12:34 a.m.
Dispatch records show this.
The police chief will not give information.
The investigation is not done.
Pysher was about to start his last year at Saint Elizabeth University in New Jersey.
His father said he was kind.
He wanted to be a history teacher and a coach.
The father said police gave the family almost no information.
They do not know if they can get his son's favorite shoes for burial.
