A court might let former President Donald Trump keep control of California's National Guard. These soldiers were sent to Los Angeles after protests about immigration. Before this, another court said Trump should give control back to California's governor, Gavin Newsom. Newsom didn't want the soldiers there and said Trump used too much power. This case is important because it could change how much power presidents have to send soldiers to cities in the U.S. This is the first time since 1965 that a president has used a state's National Guard without the governor's permission. The judges, some chosen by Trump and one by Biden, think presidents have a lot of power in this situation. But they did not agree that courts cannot question Trump's decision. The judges will make a decision soon.
