On Tuesday, Google said they are starting to use a new version of their AI model called Gemini 2.5 Pro Preview (I/O edition). Google says this new version is better than other models used a lot.
You can use Gemini 2.5 Pro Preview (I/O edition) with the Gemini API and Google's Vertex AI and AI Studio. It costs the same as the old Gemini 2.5 Pro. You can also find it in Google's Gemini app for computers and phones.
Google is releasing a new model before its big yearly meeting for developers. At this meeting, Google will probably show many new models and AI tools. Google wants to be a leader in the strong competition for AI technology. Other companies like OpenAI are also getting ready to release their own good models.
Google says Gemini 2.5 Pro is much better at coding and making websites now. It can also change and edit code better.
Google wrote on their blog that their new program, Gemini 2.5 Pro, is the best on a test called WebDev Arena. This test checks how well a program can make nice-looking and useful websites. Google also said that Gemini 2.5 Pro is very good at understanding videos. It got a high score of 84.8% on a well-known test for videos called VideoMME.
Google wrote in a blog post that the new Gemini 2.5 Pro will help people who write code. It will help them write code better. It will also fix problems that these people talked about. For example, it will make fewer mistakes when using special commands called functions. It will also make these functions work more often. Google also said that the program is good at making websites look nice. But you can still tell it what to do.
