TikTok is trying a new thing. It shows reviews for some places in the comments of videos. This means you don't need to search or go to Google to find out more about a place you see on TikTok.

If you have this new feature on TikTok, you will see a new button called "Reviews" on the right after you click to see the comments for the video.

For example, if you see a video of Central Park in New York and the person tells you where it is, you can see what other people think. You can see how many stars they gave it, read what they wrote, and look at their pictures.

You can click on the reviewer's name to see their TikTok page. This is different from the old Google Maps feature.

Some people might like the new feature, but others might feel it makes the screen too busy when they are looking at things.

This is the newest way TikTok is trying to be a search tool, like Google.

In 2022, someone from Google said that TikTok was taking users from its main services, like Search and Maps, especially young people. Now, TikTok is competing with Google in many areas.

TikTok is a popular app for young people to find places. Last year, TikTok also added a way to search using pictures. You can take a photo or use one you already have to find similar things to buy in their shop.

Also in September 2024, TikTok started letting companies show ads on its search page. When people search for things, the ads can be seen there.

We don't know if TikTok will let more people use the reviews tab. TikTok didn't want to talk about it before this was published. We tried it and saw the reviews tab only on some videos that showed a place.
