TikTok is now showing reviews for some places in the comments of videos. This means you don't need to search on Google to find out more about a place you see on TikTok.
If you have this new feature on TikTok, you will see a new button called "Reviews" on the right when you look at the video's comments.
For example, if you watch a video of Central Park in New York City and the person says where it is, you can see what other people think about the park. You can see how many stars they gave it, read what they wrote, and look at their photos if they shared any.
You can also click a reviewer's name to see their TikTok page from here.
Some people might like the new feature, but others might feel it makes the screen too busy when they look at things.
This is the newest way TikTok is trying to be a bigger search engine and compete with Google.
In 2022, someone at Google said that TikTok was taking users from Google Search and Maps, especially young people. Today, TikTok is a strong competitor for Google in many areas.
TikTok is a popular place to search for locations, especially for young people. Last year, TikTok also added a new feature. You can take a photo or use one from your phone to find similar items in TikTok Shop.
Also, in September 2024, TikTok started to let companies show their ads on the search results page. This means companies can show their ads when people search for certain words.
We don't know if TikTok will let more people use this new feature. The company didn't say anything before the article was published. When we tested it, the feature only appeared on some videos that had a location.
