OpenAI thinks it will pay Microsoft less money by the year 2030. This is less than what it pays now. A report said this, using information from financial papers.
OpenAI changed their plans this week. They want to make their company help people more. But their nonprofit group will still be in charge.
OpenAI now gives 20% of its money to Microsoft. But the company told people who invested that it plans to give only 10% of its money to partners, like Microsoft, by the end of 2030. The Information newspaper said this.
Microsoft has put a lot of money into OpenAI. The two companies have a deal until the year 2030. They will share the money they make. Microsoft can also use OpenAI's ideas in their AI products. And only Microsoft can use OpenAI's special tools on Azure.
Bloomberg said on Monday that Microsoft has not yet agreed to OpenAI's plan for how the company will be set up. Microsoft wants to be sure the new plan will protect the large amount of money they have invested.
OpenAI and Microsoft did not answer questions right away.
