TikTok is making search better. Now, you can read reviews for some places right in the comments of a video. This new thing looks like a test. It means you don't need to search again or go to Google when you see a place on TikTok and want to know more.
If TikTok users have this new feature, they will see a new 'Reviews' button on the right when they look at the comments for a video.
For example, if you see a video of Central Park in New York City and the person who made it says where it is, you can see what other people think about the park. You can see how many stars they gave it, what they wrote, and if they shared any pictures.
You can also click on a reviewer's name to see their TikTok page. This is different from an old Google Maps feature, which had a Google Maps picture.
Some people might like the new feature, but others might feel it makes the screen too busy when they are looking at things.
This is the newest way TikTok wants to be a bigger search engine and compete with Google.
In 2022, someone from Google said that young people were using TikTok instead of Google Search and Maps. Today, TikTok is competing with Google in many ways.
TikTok is very popular with young people for finding places. Last year, TikTok also added a way to search with pictures. Now you can take a photo or use one you have, and TikTok will find similar things you can buy in its shop.
Also in September 2024, TikTok started letting companies show ads on the search results page. This was called "TikTok Search Ads Campaigns." It means that when people search for things, companies can pay to show their ads if they use the right words.
We don't know if TikTok will let more people use the reviews part. The company didn't want to say anything before the story came out. But when we tried it, we only saw the reviews on some videos that had a place tagged.
