Google's app for iPhones is getting a new "Simplify" button. This button uses AI to make difficult words and information on websites easier to understand. You don't need to leave the web page.
Simplify uses a special way from Google to make difficult text easier to read with Gemini. Google tested this and found that the easier text helped people understand and remember the information better.
Google has a new feature called Simplify. They hope people will use Google's tools to understand difficult things. This way, people will stay with Google and not use other tools like ChatGPT.
To use Simplify, pick any words on a website you are on in the Google app. Then, tap the "Simplify" button you see. After that, you will see the words in an easier way. This helps you understand the information and keep reading.
Google's blog shows what this feature might look like. For example, you might see a sentence that says: "This disease is complicated and hurts the lungs in many ways."
This difficult problem hurts the lungs in two ways. First, there is emphysema. This is a sickness that damages the small air bags in the lungs. Second, there is fibrosis. This is when there are many scars in the lung tissue. The body's defense cells in the lungs are not normal. The body makes more things that control these defense cells. The blood paths in the lungs also change a lot.
Google says this feature helps people understand difficult topics when they learn new things online.
Google said: "We want our models to rewrite difficult ideas correctly. They should not add mistakes or miss important points. The new text must help people understand hard topics while keeping the original information true."
Simplify is coming out for iPhone users this week.
