A bad website called 4chan had a problem on Tuesday.

I could not open the 4chan website. People on social media said the site did not work sometimes for many hours.

Other people on another website were happy about the hack. One person said the hacker was inside 4chan for more than a year.

Pictures of 4chan's computer system were online. They showed how the website works. They also showed how to ban people. Only special users can see this. A list of these special users was also online. Some users can delete things, but they cannot see everything like other users.

Because 4chan is linked to violence, this cyberattack could show who is in charge of these websites.

We sent emails to people on the list. One person said the information is true.

"I think this is true," the janitor said.

"I'm surprised. 4chan's team had leaks before, but this is a big problem," the person said. "I'm not happy about this. Many people are not happy. But we worked here for a long time. Finding people's information is old on 4chan, and we knew we could be found."

The cleaner said, "I am worried about the bad information." He said, "A hacker took the website. Maybe this is worse than pictures for the website."

The person who works on the website said a bad person got private information from people who pay the website.

4chan did not write back to an email.
