Mark Zuckerberg and people at Meta thought TikTok was better than them.

The paper, from February 2022, has talks between bosses at Meta. They talk about plans for Facebook and Instagram. In a message, the boss said Facebook is not number one anymore and lost its power. He said TikTok is popular because friends see the same things there.

Mosseri said Facebook is not the best place to find things now. He thinks YouTube is good, but TikTok will be better than YouTube soon.

TikTok uses only videos and is much better than Facebook.

People watched TikTok more than YouTube in the U.S.

This week, Netflix added short videos in its app.

In court, the U.S. government says Meta broke rules. They bought Instagram and WhatsApp. The government says Meta wants to be the only big social media company. This paper could hurt the government's case. It shows Meta people talked about TikTok being better than Facebook.

Mark said Facebook is still big, but people use it less time now.

He said TikTok helps friends find things they both like.

The CEO said, "It's easy because your friends see it. You don't need to send it to them."

Other managers also gave their opinions.

The boss of WhatsApp said that if you write comments on TikTok videos, TikTok will show you and other people who write comments more videos like that.

Stan from Meta said other companies were making it hard for Meta to grow.

He said adding a new format is not enough because people use many other apps like TikTok and Twitter.

John said TikTok is good for short videos. He said Meta can be good too if people put videos on Reels.

But he was not sure if Meta was behind in technology and tools.

Other papers in the trial show Meta is afraid of other companies. Zuckerberg said last month that TikTok was bad for Meta and made it grow slower.
