The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to a three-year contract extension with running back Bijan Robinson through the 2030 season.

The deal makes the fourth-year player the NFL’s highest-paid running back.

The extension is worth up to $75 million with incentives, with $51 million guaranteed, a person with knowledge of the details said.

The base value of $66.75 million gives Robinson a $22.25 million average per year.

Philadelphia’s Saquon Barkley has an average of $20.6 million.

Robinson sat out the first week of training camp as a spectator in an apparent contract “hold-in.”

He joined practice on Tuesday.

Coach Kevin Stefanski said the team will slowly ramp him back in over the next week.

The deal continues Atlanta’s trend of locking up key offensive players.

The team recently extended left guard Matthew Bergeron, wide receiver Drake London, and tight end Kyle Pitts.

Robinson led the NFL with 2,298 yards from scrimmage and scored 11 touchdowns last season.
