Many non-French tennis players at the French Open have complained about the unfriendly atmosphere when they play against French players, saying it feels like a very intense football game. The crowd's bad behavior, like booing and shouting insults, led the organizers to stop selling alcohol in the stands last year. Some players, for example, Nicolás Jarry from Chile, have said their experiences were "disgusting" and the worst they have ever had. The tournament director, Amélie Mauresmo, has reacted by making security stronger and giving umpires more power to deal with bad behavior. However, not all players mind the unfriendly atmosphere; Belgian player Elise Mertens thinks it's a normal part of tennis. French player Corentin Moutet advises players to just ignore the pressure of playing at home.
