Some international tennis players at the French Open have complained about the difficult atmosphere when they play against French opponents, saying it's like a very intense football match. The crowd's aggressive actions, such as booing and shouting insults, led the tournament organizers to ban alcohol from the stands last year. Some players, like Nicolás Jarry from Chile, have called their experiences "disgusting" and the worst of their lives. Because of the negative crowd behavior, tournament director Amélie Mauresmo said that security has been increased and umpires can now do more to stop and report bad behavior. However, not all players are bothered by this strong atmosphere; for example, Belgian player Elise Mertens thinks it's a normal part of tennis. French player Corentin Moutet understood the pressure of playing at home and told players to just ignore it.
