Shohei Ohtani, a well-known Japanese baseball player, has become the third person in the Dodgers' history to hit 20 home runs in the first 55 games of the season. This achievement puts him in the same group as Gil Hodges and Cody Bellinger. It's also the 64th time a player in the major leagues has done this in the same period, and the first since Pete Alonso in 2023. Ohtani, who has won the MVP award three times and hits the most home runs in the major leagues, recently hit a two-run home run against the Cleveland Guardians. This is the fourth time this season he has hit a home run to the opposite side of the field. What's interesting is that even Ohtani's less powerful hits can turn into home runs, and he has hit home runs in three games in a row twice this season. Ohtani, who has been chosen as an All-Star four times, has also hit at least 12 home runs in a month three times since he started playing for the Dodgers.
