Although Billie Eilish is famous, she did not always like her name when she was a child.

Famous singer Billie Eilish, who has won many awards, was interviewed by some famous friends like Ariana Grande and Idris Elba for a magazine. Idris Elba asked her if she ever felt "embarrassed" about her name and about the first person she met who had the same name.

"When I was young, I really disliked my name. People always told me that Billie was a boy's name," said the artist. "I was often angry about it and wished I had a more feminine name, like Violet or Lavender, a beautiful name connected to flowers."

However, now the singer feels her name must be Billie, and her many fans likely feel the same.

It's funny because now I can't think of any other name that could be mine except Billie. I really love my name a lot," Eilish said. "It feels like the only name that fits who I am. I just think it's perfect for me and my personality.

The "Wildflower" singer said she was named after her grandfather, William, so "the first Billy I ever knew was my grandfather, but I never met him.

She explained, "I first knew a woman named Billie, Billie Piper, who was in the TV show Doctor Who. I really liked Doctor Who, so I was very happy about that." Then she laughed and added, "But I also felt jealous and angry because I thought, 'Why would someone say my name but be talking about another person? That's not right!'"

Besides Piper and Eilish, other famous people have had the same first name, such as Billie Jean King, Billie Holiday, Billie Joe Armstrong, Billie Lourd, Billie Burke, Billie Whitelaw, and Billie Dove.
