A group of states is suing 23andMe, a company that tests your DNA. They want to stop 23andMe from selling people's DNA information without their permission. This is happening because another company wants to buy 23andMe, which is having money problems. The states say 23andMe should not sell DNA data, health details, and medical records without asking everyone first. 23andMe lets people find out about their family history using spit tests. But the company hasn't made much money, so it fired many workers and is trying to avoid going out of business. Another company promised to protect people's private information if it buys 23andMe. Someone will also check if the sale is safe for customers' private information.
