President Trump decided to put more taxes on steel and aluminum from other countries. This might make food prices go up for Americans. These materials are often used for packaging, so many products could be affected by this new tax. A trade expert, Usha Haley, says these taxes could make things more expensive for many businesses and make relationships with other countries difficult. Trump says these taxes will help the US steel industry, but it might go against his promise to make food cheaper. The new taxes on steel and aluminum could affect many products, like canned food, drinks, and pet food. Robert Budway, who leads the Can Manufacturers Institute, says this could help foreign companies sell their canned food for less than American companies.
