JetZero, a company from California, plans to build a factory in North Carolina. This factory will make a new type of airplane. This could create more than 14,500 jobs in the area over the next ten years. The company will spend $4.7 billion on this factory at Greensboro's airport. They will make their Z4 plane there. This plane has a special shape that uses up to 50% less fuel than regular airplanes. United Airlines and Alaska Airlines have already put money into this project and might buy the planes. The project also includes a place to study new materials. It could get over $2.35 billion from the state and local government by 2060. JetZero wants its planes to be flying by the early 2030s. They plan to make 20 planes each month. First, they will make a plane for about 250 people that can fly 5,000 nautical miles.
