A plane crash in India killed 241 people, but only one person, Vishwashkumar Ramesh, survived. This started many online discussions about how rare such events are. Ramesh was reportedly thrown from the plane. Even though he was confused and had many injuries, he managed to walk to an ambulance for help. In past decades, there have been other plane crashes where only one person survived. For example, Cecelia Crocker survived a 1987 crash that killed 154 people, including her family, when the plane's wing hit a light pole during takeoff. Other single survivors include George Lamson Jr. from a 1985 crash, Bahia Bakari from a 2009 crash near the Comoro Islands, and Jim Polehinke from a 2006 crash in Lexington, Kentucky.
