Russia and Ukraine met for a second time in Turkey to discuss peace, after recent attacks, including a major drone attack by Ukraine on Russian air bases. Russia presented its conditions for ending the fighting, which Ukraine will now consider. Russia's demands include Ukraine withdrawing its troops from four regions that Russia took control of in 2022, as a condition for a ceasefire. Other conditions are that Ukraine stops preparing its military, stops receiving weapons from Western countries, and does not allow any foreign military presence on its land. The document also suggests Ukraine should end martial law, hold elections, declare itself neutral, give up its goal to join NATO, reduce the size of its armed forces, and recognize Russian as an official language. Ukraine and Western countries have previously rejected these demands. During the talks, both sides agreed to exchange the bodies of 6,000 soldiers and create a group to exchange seriously injured troops. These discussions followed a complex drone attack by Ukraine against Russia, which took over a year and a half to plan and damaged or destroyed more than 40 warplanes at air bases deep inside Russia.
