There was a big explosion at a chemical factory in Weifang, a city in eastern China. Five people died and 19 people were hurt. Six people are still missing. The factory, called Gaomi Youdao Chemical Co., makes chemicals for farms and hospitals. The explosion broke windows in buildings nearby and sent a lot of smoke into the sky. Students at a school nearby said they smelled something strange after the explosion. More than 230 people went to help, and a group is checking if the air is bad. This happened after a meeting about making chemical factories safer. It shows that safety is still a problem in China. Last year, the Gaomi Youdao factory was told it was good at safety. They found and fixed more than 800 dangerous things.
