King Charles III visited Canada and spoke to their government. He said that Canada is an independent country, even though the US President had suggested Canada become part of the US. King Charles also said he understood that Canada is facing difficult times and that many Canadians are worried. He promised to help protect the French language and Quebec culture, as they are very important to Canada. This was his first visit to Canada as King. It happened when the US President was threatening to put taxes on Canadian products and saying Canada should spend more on its army. The King ended his speech by saying Canada is an independent country. He also said Canada plans to join a European project to buy weapons, and he did not mention buying from the US.
