In Luxor, Egypt, archaeologists found three old tombs from the New Kingdom period (1550–1070 B.C.). The tombs have writings that tell us about the people buried there. Important people were buried there, like Baki, who looked after grain, and "S", who worked at the Temple of Amun and was a writer. The third tomb was for Amum-em-Ipet, who worked for Amun. His tomb was damaged, but there were still pictures of people carrying furniture for a funeral and a party. The government showed photos of the objects and statues found in the tombs. This discovery happened before the Grand Egyptian Museum opens this summer. In the museum, you can see more than 100,000 old Egyptian objects. Sherif Fathi, the Minister of Tourism, said this find is important for science and old things, and it will probably help tourism.
