Learning Resources Inc., an Illinois toy company, has taken President Trump to the Supreme Court because of his tariffs. They claim he used emergency powers illegally to put these tariffs in place without Congress's approval. The company won in a lower court, but the tariffs are still being collected while another court reviews a similar case. Learning Resources says the case needs to be decided quickly because the tariffs are really affecting businesses and customers. CEO Rick Woldenberg states that the tariffs are causing a lot of uncertainty and making prices higher. The company's lawyers have suggested that the court could decide by June if it will hear the case, and then listen to arguments in the fall. The Trump administration defends the tariffs, saying that the emergency powers law allows the president to control imports during national emergencies.
