Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has said she will continue the Trump administration's tough immigration policies, even though there are ongoing protests. This happened after a federal judge temporarily stopped National Guard troops from being sent to protests, saying it was against the law. But then, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals later canceled this decision. The judge's order only affected National Guard troops, not Marines, who were sent after protests started because of the immigration policies. Governor Gavin Newsom, who asked for an immediate stop to troops helping with immigration arrests, supported the judge's decision. At the same time, White House spokesperson Anna Kelly defended the president's actions, saying he acted within his legal rights. Protests are still happening all over the country, and immigration agents in Los Angeles are showing other communities how to protest. Even with this, Noem has confirmed that federal authorities will not give up.
