An Illinois toy company, Learning Resources Inc., has taken President Donald Trump to the Supreme Court because of his tariffs. They argue that he illegally put these taxes on goods using an emergency law without getting approval from Congress. The company had won in a lower court, but that decision is now on hold because another court is looking at a similar case. This means Trump can keep collecting the tariffs. Learning Resources believes the case needs to be decided quickly because the tariffs are really affecting businesses and consumers. CEO Rick Woldenberg says the tariffs are causing a lot of uncertainty and making prices go up. The company's lawyers have suggested that the court could decide by June whether to take the case and then listen to arguments in the fall. The Trump administration defends the tariffs, saying that the emergency powers law allows the president to control imports during national emergencies.
