Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has said she will continue the previous government's strict immigration rules, even though there are still protests. This happened after a federal judge temporarily told National Guard troops to stop being at protests, but a higher court later changed that decision. The judge's order only affected National Guard troops, not Marines, who were also sent after protests started because of the immigration rules. Governor Gavin Newsom, who wanted troops to stop helping with immigration arrests right away, supported the judge's first order. Meanwhile, White House spokesperson Anna Kelly said the president's actions were right, explaining he acted within his legal power. Protests are still happening across the country, and immigration agents in Los Angeles are showing other communities how to do things. Despite this, Secretary Noem has confirmed that federal authorities will not give up.
