Learning Resources Inc., a toy company from Illinois, has taken President Trump's tariffs case to the Supreme Court. They argue that he put these tariffs in place illegally, using an emergency law without Congress's approval. The company won in a lower court, but the tariffs are still being collected because another court is looking at a similar case, which has paused the original decision. Learning Resources says the case needs to be heard quickly because the tariffs are really hurting businesses and customers. CEO Rick Woldenberg states that the tariffs are causing a lot of uncertainty and making prices go up. The company's lawyers have suggested that the court could decide by June if they will take the case and hear arguments in the fall. However, the Trump administration defends the tariffs, saying that the emergency powers law allows the president to control imports during national emergencies.
