A big problem with Google Cloud affected many popular online services around the world, like Spotify and Discord. Thousands of users noticed these issues and reported them, with reports for Spotify being highest around 3 p.m. EST. Google Cloud confirmed the problem, saying that it affected customers both locally and internationally. Even though they found the main reason and started to fix it, Google Cloud couldn't say when the problem would be completely solved. Google Cloud, which hosts many internet services, is the fastest-growing part of Alphabet Inc. Last year, it made $43.2 billion, which was 31% more than in 2023, even though Alphabet still makes most of its money from Google's search engine.
