According to financial documents seen by The Information, OpenAI thinks it will pay a smaller part of its money to its investor and partner Microsoft by 2030 compared to what it pays now.

This news comes after OpenAI recently changed their mind about a big plan to change how they are organized. Instead, they will follow a new plan where the part of the company that makes money will become a public benefit company, but the part that does not make money will still be in control.

The Information reported that OpenAI currently gives 20% of its total money to Microsoft. However, the AI company has told people who invest that it plans to give only 10% of its money to its partners, including Microsoft, by the end of 2030.

Microsoft has put a lot of money, billions of dollars, into OpenAI.

They have an agreement until 2030 to share the money they earn.

This agreement also allows Microsoft to use OpenAI's ideas in its AI products and be the only company that can use OpenAI's special software on its cloud platform called Azure.

According to Bloomberg on Monday, Microsoft has not yet agreed to the company structure that OpenAI has suggested. Microsoft reportedly wants to be sure the new structure will protect the large amount of money they have invested.

OpenAI and Microsoft did not answer requests for comment right away.
