OpenAI thinks it will pay less of its money to its main investor and partner, Microsoft, by 2030 than it does now, according to financial papers.

This news comes after OpenAI changed its plan this week for a big reorganization.

According to The Information, OpenAI currently has a deal to give 20% of its total income to Microsoft. However, the AI company told investors it plans to give 10% of its income to its business partners, including Microsoft, by the end of 2030.

Microsoft has invested a lot of money in OpenAI. They have a contract until 2030 to share the money they make. This agreement also lets Microsoft use OpenAI's technology in its AI products. Microsoft also has the only right to use OpenAI's services on its cloud platform, Azure.

Bloomberg reported on Monday that Microsoft has not yet agreed to the new company structure that OpenAI has suggested. Microsoft, the larger tech company, reportedly wants to be sure that its investment of billions of dollars is protected.

OpenAI and Microsoft did not reply quickly when asked for their opinions.
