OpenAI believes it will give less money to Microsoft by 2030 than it gives now, according to a report.
This news comes after OpenAI changed its plan this week. The part of the company that makes money will now be a 'public benefit corporation'. But the part that does not make money will still be in charge.
OpenAI now gives 20% of its money to Microsoft. But OpenAI told people who invested money that they want to give only 10% of their money to partners, like Microsoft, by the end of 2030.
Microsoft put a lot of money into OpenAI. They have a deal until 2030 to share the money they make. Microsoft can also use OpenAI's ideas in its AI products. Only Microsoft can use OpenAI's APIs on its Azure platform.
Microsoft has not yet agreed to OpenAI's plan for how the company will be set up. Bloomberg reported this on Monday. It is said that Microsoft wants to make sure its big investment is safe with the new plan.
OpenAI and Microsoft did not answer right away when people asked for their thoughts.
